FAQ
Everything you need to know before your first trip to the field.
What amenities does your field offer?
Our field provides tables under an 8,100 sqft shaded area, FREE drinking water, fan coolers for the hot days, and infrared heaters for the colder months. Our 1.5 acre parking area can accommodate over 150 vehicles with an additional 1.6 acre overflow parking lot and the playing field can hold up to 250 players. We can outfit up to 100 players with rental gear.
What is the age requirement?
Minimum age is 10 for paintball and low-impact, and 8 for Gel Blaster. Players 17 and younger need a parent or guardian signature on the waiver.
What's the difference between paintball, low-impact, and gel blaster?
All three are fun ways to get in the game — the main difference is the size of the projectile and how much impact you feel.
- Paintball uses standard .68 caliber paintballs. It's the classic experience, for ages 10 and up.
- Low-impact paintball uses smaller, lighter .50 caliber paintballs — noticeably less sting, great for younger players, first-timers, and mixed-age groups. Recommended for ages 10 and up, available by private party reservation only.
- Gel blaster fires soft, water-filled gel beads that burst on contact — ultra-low impact, no mess, no stains. Our gentlest option, great for ages 8 and up.
Still not sure which is right for your group? Give us a call/text and we'll help you choose.
Do you need a reservation to play?
No reservation is needed for open play — just show up during our open hours, complete your waiver, and check in at registration.
Looking to play in your own group? Private parties can book online or give us a call/text.
Do you require a deposit for private parties?
No deposit is required. For private parties, you simply pay on game day for the players who show up — no upfront payment and no deposit to hold your reservation.
Are we allowed to bring food or drinks?
You are allowed to bring your own food and drinks. BKW provides FREE water bottles for all visitors and players. We do have cold sports drinks, energy drinks and snacks for sale.
Are you allowed to drink alcohol?
No form of alcohol/drugs is allowed at the field at any time.
Can we bring our own paintballs?
If you are using your own marker, you are welcome to bring and use your own paintballs. Rental markers, however, must use the field paint we sell. Paintball size varies slightly between brands, and even a small difference can change the velocity. Our rental guns are set to a safe limit that we check throughout the season, so keeping the field paint in them ensures they stay at that safe speed for every player.
Does it hurt to get shot?
Yes, getting hit can sting, and it is normal to leave with a few welts or small bruises. That is part of paintball. How much you feel it depends on how close the shooter is and whether you are hit on bare skin or through clothing. The good news is that it is brief, most players find the excitement of the game far outweighs the occasional sting. Wearing long sleeves and long pants makes a real difference, and we set all markers to a safe, regulated speed to keep the game fun rather than painful. If the sting is a concern, our low-impact paintball and gel blaster options hit much softer and are a great way to play.
Is paintball safe?
Paintball has a strong safety record when the rules are followed, and player safety is our top priority. Every player wears a full-face protective mask that must stay on at all times on the field, all markers are set to a regulated speed, and our trained referees officiate every game to keep play safe and under control. That said, paintball is an active outdoor sport. Expect the occasional welt or bruise from being hit, and as with any physical activity, there is always some risk of scrapes from tripping or more serious injury. Following the safety rules and wearing appropriate clothing keeps the risks low and the fun high.
What should I wear?
Closed toed shoes are required. A long sleeve shirt and long pants are recommended but not required. Be sure to dress for the weather, it may be hot during play. Paintballs will always hurt more when shot on bare skin versus through clothing.
How long can I play?
Your admission fee is good all day as long as we are open. Once you have paid your admission and reviewed the safety rules, you are ready for play.
How long will 500 paintballs last me?
This all depends on the player. A more aggressive player may go through 500 paintballs in 1-2 hours. A less aggressive player may last all day on 500 paintballs. Most beginning players shoot 500 paintballs in about 2-3 hours. Extra paintballs are available for purchase.
